My name is David Likhovetsky, and I have been working as a personal trainer since 2001. With more than 25 years of coaching experience, I take every client’s goals seriously and focus on what matters most: safe, effective training that supports strength, movement, and long-term health.
After many years working in shared and high-traffic training environments, I created my own fully private training space to offer a more focused and personalised experience. The studio is designed to remove the distractions, pressure, and limitations often found in commercial gyms, allowing each client to train in a quiet, professional setting with complete attention on their goals.
DL Personal Training is built around one core principle: training for longevity. The aim is not just short-term results, but helping clients move better, feel stronger, and maintain their independence and physical capacity for years to come.
Many of the people I work with are returning to exercise after long periods of inactivity, managing previous injuries, or rebuilding confidence in their bodies. My approach focuses on restoring quality movement, developing functional strength, and building sustainable habits that support long-term health. Every program is tailored to the individual and designed to be practical, safe, and achievable.
Over the years I have worked across a wide range of environments, including busy commercial gyms, private personal training studios, and one-on-one sessions in clients’ homes. These experiences have shaped a practical and adaptable coaching style focused on real-world results, individual needs, and consistent long-term progress.
My background also includes many years of coaching boxing and kickboxing in both group exercise and personal training settings. Alongside this, I have a long-standing foundation in combative martial arts including Muay Thai, kickboxing, and boxing. I began training in martial arts at the age of eight and have been dedicated to strength training since the age of sixteen.
I am a registered AUSactive Personal Trainer and Gym Instructor, as well as a registered AUSactive Business Member. My formal qualifications are supported by ongoing professional development across multiple areas of fitness, strength training, and movement.

Why a Private Studio
After working across a wide range of training environments including commercial gyms, outdoor settings, private studios, and in-home sessions, I recognised that many people struggle to feel comfortable or properly supported in busy gym environments. For some, the noise, crowds, and lack of personal attention can make training feel intimidating or unfocused.
DL Personal Training was created to offer a different experience. The private studio environment allows every session to take place without distractions, with the entire focus on the individual client and their progress.
Training in a private setting makes it easier to prioritise correct movement, proper technique, and a gradual, well-structured approach to building strength and fitness. Without the pressure and limitations often found in larger gyms, sessions can be tailored more precisely to each person’s needs, ability, and goals.
The result is a calmer, more supportive training environment where progress is consistent, safety is prioritised, and the focus remains on building long-term strength, confidence, and physical capacity.
